Discover a luxurious, privately hosted cottage nestled on a 28-acre working vineyard in the heart of Pokolbin. With no shared spaces and a truly exclusive stay, enjoy sweeping vineyard and mountain views, kangaroos grazing nearby, and ducks paddling in the dam — all in complete privacy.
Personally managed by the owners, the cottage features four spacious king bedrooms (two with private ensuites and Juliette balconies overlooking the vines) and a third large bathroom downstairs with both bath and shower — perfect for families or groups of up to 8 guests.
The open-plan living area offers panoramic views of the Brokenback Ranges, the dam, and surrounding vines. Relax in the generous lounge (seating for 8) by the cozy slow-combustion fireplace (BYO firewood), dine indoors or enjoy long vineyard lunches in the outdoor entertaining area with a Weber BBQ and seating for 8.
The fully equipped gourmet kitchen includes a stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, coffee machine (with pods), refrigerator, kettle, and all essential cookware and utensils to make self-catering a breeze.
Additional comforts include:
Ducted air-conditioning
NBN wireless internet
55” Smart TV and Google Home
Board games and books
Fresh linen, towels, and toiletries
Washing machine
Portable cot and high chair (on request)
Professionally deep-cleaned and sanitised before every stay, the cottage is loved by guests for its immaculate presentation, spacious layout, and peaceful surroundings. Centrally located, you’re close to world-class wineries, renowned restaurants, and nearby wedding and concert venues — the perfect base for your Hunter Valley getaway.
Unlike homes managed by booking agencies or platforms, this is a genuinely private retreat — with direct communication and care from us, the owners. No middlemen, no chatbots — just thoughtful hospitality, attention to detail, and a stay that feels personal from start to finish.
We’re proud to share our home while we’re away — not just as a place to unwind, but as an invitation to experience self-sustaining vineyard living. The property is powered by solar energy and solar hot water, runs entirely on rainwater (filtered through a two-stage purification system), and uses a 100% eco-friendly on-site sewage system.
As a small vineyard transitioning to organic practices, your stay directly supports us in managing the high costs involved in the shift to more sustainable farming and in caring for the land and its native flora and fauna.
If you’re into a bit of vineyard history, iyla Estate is home to some of the oldest vines in the Hunter Valley region. Our 1 hectare of Cabernet Sauvignon was planted in 1974, followed by 1.5 hectares of Traminer in 1975.
"The Cabernet Sauvignon has been a consistent medal winner at Hunter shows."
